Guns in Schools is Not the Answer

I worked in a K-12 school with nearly 1000 students under one roof. All the elementary classrooms on the first floor had doors to the outside. There were nine main entry doors throughout the building. Can someone tell me how we could put armed guards in that school? How many would we need? When I retired, they didn't replace my position to save the district money. Who would pay for all these armed guards? Even if the gun industry paid their salaries and benefits, would you want your children or grandchildren to go to school with armed guard stationed at every entrance? My suggestion is this: Ask the parents and police from Newtown who are willing to advise Vice-president Biden's commission on sane and practical ways to address the gun problem.
